“I was looking for a stunning piece of lumber to make a large (9’ x 8’) L-shaped desk for my new home. A friend gave me a list of lumber places around the Triangle area, but most were only wholesale. The last place on the list was Urban Lumber. La because of the distance (2.5 hours one way). After talking to Josh, I drove over and checked them out. I was blown away by the choices and the skill of everyone working there. I purchased 2 slabs of Red Oak for a shockingly great price. Josh and I determined which part of the slabs we would use for the desk. I had enough left for a bench for my front door entryway and 2 large shelves (32” long and 12”-15” deep). I brought home the remaining “scraps” and have made 4 small, unfinished shelves for artwork. I also have enough for several small projects that may come my way. Next, we picked out the perfect stain. Six weeks later, I drove over and picked everything up. I am blown away by how gorgeous everything is. The bench fits the space perfectly, and the desk is exactly as I pictured it. I still need to hang the shelves, but I'll try to add photos when I finish that project. Assembly was easy as the crew made the dominoes and included the dog bones.”
